Nottingham Area Guides: The Beeston Edition

Once described by The Guardian as ‘The Silicon Valley of the East Midlands’, Beeston certainly has a lot going for it. If you're looking for thriving local industry and a fun family community, Beeston could be the place for you!

Landlords take note: This could be the perfect area to invest if you're looking for longer term, family tenants!

Shops: Beeston boasts a wide range of shops, from unique boutiques to large supermarkets- and everything in between! Beeston high street is home to plenty of local independents- pick up locally sourced seasonal produce at Fred Hallam Green Grocers (a feature of the high street for 100 years), or some beautiful baked goods from Birds Bakery. You’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to supermarkets with a large Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Lidl. Eating Out: You are seriously spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out in Beeston and new bars and restaurants for you to try pop up in the area regularly. To name just a few of Comfort Lettings favourites: The Frustrated Chef, Café Roya, Amores, The Victoria, Bendigo Lounge and Yiannis. Café culture is also thriving with lots of independent coffee shops lining the high street such as Greenhood Coffee House and Rye (which turns in to a stylish Bistrot during the evening). For a real ale experience try one of Beeston’s many CAMRA approved pubs and breweries such as Totally Tapped, The Malt Shovel and Pottle of Blues.

Schools: There are some great Primary and Secondary schools in the area. Primary schools include Eskdale Junior School, Beeston Primary, Beeston Fields Primary, Round Hill, John Clifford and Bramcote C of E. Secondary schools include Foxwood Academy, Chilwell School and Alderman White.

Transport Links: Beeston is an excellent commuter spot, located close to the A52 you can drive in to Nottingham City Centre or to the M1 in 15 minutes. There are plenty of public transport links. Hop on a tram or bus to get you to the city centre in around 25 minutes or take a train (every 15 minutes) in under 10! A direct train once an hour will take you to London St Pancras in 1 hour 45 mins.

Parks and Recreation: Beeston has plenty of green spaces to enjoy walks and fresh air including Beeston Fields Recreation Ground and Dovecote Lane. Highfields Park has a large play area and lovely lake and has recently undergone extensive renovation. For longer walks and beautiful scenery try the close by Attenborough Nature Reserve. There are lots of gyms and sports clubs including the nationally renowned Nottingham Tennis Centre and brand-new David Ross Sports Centre located just inside the University Park and open for public membership.

Community Events: The Lakeside Arts Centre is often host to fantastic community, culture and arts events (check out what's on at Lakeside Arts here). Other dates in the diary include Oxjam, Beeston Carnival and The Nottingham Open Tennis Tournament.

Example Properties: Bordering the Nottingham University campus, and being home to Boots global head quarters, there is a high demand for property. The area is popular with families and perfect for landlords looking to attract long term tenants. There is a great variety of property in the area, including plenty of family homes.
